Terms of Service

The service is provided by Althevia Srl, Via Quarello 15/A, 10136 Torino (TO), Italy — P.IVA 13338180014, REA TO-1356275. Pursuant to Art. 7 of D.Lgs. 70/2003, our contact email is info@althevia.net. Althevia Srl is registered with the Turin Chamber of Commerce.

By registering or using Althevia Cosmic, you confirm that you have read, understood, and accept these Terms. We may update them to reflect changes in the service or applicable law. We will notify you by email at least 15 days before material changes take effect. Continued use after that date constitutes acceptance. If you do not accept the updated Terms, you may delete your account at any time.

Althevia Cosmic is an information platform that offers:

• Automated analysis of cosmetic ingredient lists (INCI) using proprietary algorithms.
• Personalised hair care product recommendations based on your self-reported hair profile and preferences.
• Price comparison across participating Italian retailers, with links to purchase on those retailers' own websites.
• Educational ingredient information to help you understand product formulations.

Althevia Cosmic is offered with a free plan and a paid “Premium” plan. The free plan is available at no cost. The Premium plan unlocks additional features and is provided on a subscription basis under the conditions below.

• Plans and prices: Premium is available as a monthly subscription at €4.99 and as an annual subscription at €39.99 (equivalent to approximately €3.33 per month). All prices are in euro and include Italian VAT where applicable. The total price payable is the one shown at checkout.
• Payments: payments are collected by our payment provider, Stripe. By subscribing, you authorise Altevia Srl, through Stripe, to charge the applicable fee to the payment method you provide. We do not store your full card details.
• Automatic renewal: the subscription renews automatically at the end of each billing period (monthly or annual) for a further period of equal length, at the price in force at that time, unless you cancel before the renewal date.
• Cancellation: you may cancel at any time from your account settings or by writing to info@althevia.net. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the period already paid for: you keep Premium access until then, after which the account reverts to the free plan. Cancelling does not entitle you to a refund of amounts already paid, except where mandatory law provides otherwise (see the Right of Withdrawal section).
• Price and feature changes: we may change Premium prices or features. We will give you at least 30 days' notice by email before a change to the price or to material features takes effect; the change applies from your next renewal, and you remain free to cancel before then if you do not accept it.
• Failed payments: if a renewal payment fails, we may attempt the charge again and may suspend or downgrade Premium access until payment is successfully completed.
• Invoicing: on request, and in accordance with applicable Italian tax law, we will provide suitable documentation of the payments made.

Your subscription renews automatically and your payment method is charged at the start of each renewal until you cancel. You can cancel at any time, with effect from the end of the current period.

The service is available to users aged 18 and over residing in the European Union. By registering, you confirm that you meet this requirement. Althevia Cosmic is currently in closed beta: access requires a valid invitation key issued by Althevia Srl. We reserve the right to revoke access keys, limit availability, or modify service features during the beta period without prior notice.

Beta status: the platform is under active development. Features, availability, and price comparison coverage may change. Some functionality may be incomplete or subject to modification.

To use Althevia Cosmic you must create an account. You agree to:

• Provide accurate, current, and complete registration information.
• Keep your credentials confidential and not share your account with others.
• Notify us immediately at info@althevia.net if you suspect unauthorised access to your account.
• Maintain only one account per person.

You may use Althevia Cosmic for personal, non-commercial purposes: to discover hair care products, compare prices, and learn about cosmetic ingredients.

• Browsing personalised recommendations and ingredient explanations.
• Comparing prices across retailers and following links to purchase on their websites.
• Managing your hair profile and account settings.

The following are prohibited:

• Automated scraping, crawling, or extraction of data from the platform.
• Circumventing beta access controls or sharing your invitation key with others.
• Using the service for commercial purposes, including reselling or aggregating recommendation data.
• Impersonating another user, person, or entity.
• Interfering with platform security, integrity, or performance.

The Althevia Cosmic platform — including its brand, design, algorithms, INCI classification system, and all content generated by the service — is the exclusive property of Althevia Srl and is protected by Italian and EU intellectual property law. You may not copy, reproduce, modify, or distribute any part of the platform without our prior written consent.

Your personal data (hair profile, preferences, interactions, and usage data) remains yours. By using the service, you grant Althevia Srl a limited, non-exclusive licence to process that data solely for the purpose of providing, measuring, and improving the service, in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

All recommendations, ingredient analyses, and content provided by Althevia Cosmic are for informational purposes only. In particular:

• Product recommendations are generated by algorithms and do not constitute medical, dermatological, or professional cosmetic advice. If you have a skin condition, allergy, or health concern, consult a qualified professional before using any product.
• Prices displayed are indicative and sourced from third-party retailers. They may be out of date, incomplete, or subject to change at any time. Always verify the price on the retailer's website before purchasing.
• Product availability is not guaranteed. Althevia Cosmic is not responsible for products being out of stock, discontinued, or unavailable at a given retailer.
• Ingredient lists (INCI) are processed as provided to us by brands and retailers and may contain errors or omissions, or differ from the formulation actually printed on the product you purchase. The INCI shown is therefore indicative: always check the actual ingredient list on the physical product before purchase or use, especially if you have allergies or sensitivities.

Price comparison results include links to third-party retailer websites. When you click a link, you leave the Althevia Cosmic platform and are subject to the retailer's own terms of service and privacy policy. Althevia Srl:

• Is not a party to any transaction between you and a retailer.
• Does not guarantee the accuracy of prices, availability, or product descriptions provided by retailers.
• Is not responsible for the quality, safety, or delivery of products purchased from third-party retailers.
• Records when you click a retailer link, in order to operate and measure the price-comparison service, as described in our Privacy Policy.

To the extent permitted by Italian and EU consumer law, Althevia Srl is not liable for:

• Indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from use of the service.
• Inaccuracies in price comparison data or product information sourced from third parties.
• Service interruptions, data loss, or unavailability, particularly during the beta period.

Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes rights that you have as a consumer under Italian law (D.Lgs. 206/2005) or other mandatory EU consumer protection legislation, which cannot be waived by contract.

If you are a consumer, you have the right to withdraw from a paid Premium subscription within 14 days of its conclusion, without giving any reason, pursuant to Articles 52 et seq. of Legislative Decree 206/2005 (Italian Consumer Code), implementing Directive 2011/83/EU. The free plan involves no payment; for it, withdrawal simply corresponds to deleting your account at any time.

Premium is a digital service that we provide immediately. If you withdraw within 14 days of purchase, we will refund the full amount you paid, even if you have already used Premium in the meantime; your Premium access then ends. After the 14-day period the subscription is non-refundable, except where the law provides otherwise, and ordinary cancellation applies (access continues until the end of the period already paid for).

To exercise the right of withdrawal, send an unequivocal statement within 14 days to info@althevia.net (subject: “Right of Withdrawal”); you may use the model withdrawal form in Annex I, Part B, of the Consumer Code. We will confirm receipt without undue delay and refund any amount due within 14 days using the same payment method.

For consumer disputes, the European Commission's Online Dispute Resolution (ODR) platform is available at: ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr

Althevia Srl may suspend or terminate your account if you breach these Terms, engage in fraudulent or abusive behaviour, or if the beta programme concludes. We will endeavour to provide reasonable notice where possible, except in cases of serious breach.

You may close your account at any time from the Settings page. Upon deletion, your personal data is handled in accordance with the retention periods set out in our Privacy Policy.

These Terms are governed by Italian law. Consumer disputes are subject to the mandatory jurisdiction provisions of D.Lgs. 206/2005 Art. 66-bis: the competent court is that of the consumer's place of residence or domicile.

For business-to-business disputes, the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Turin (Italy) applies.

For any question or complaint regarding these Terms:
